General situation

Two areas of low pressure, one over northwestern France and the other over the northern North Sea, will both move away southeastwards leaving the United Kingdom in a cold northwesterly airflow. Wintry showers and strong locally gale force winds will affect most areas, especially in the north and west.

Cape Wrath to Rattray Head including Orkney - Strong wind warning
