DEFINITIONS
“Licensee” means the organisation receiving the [email protected] mailing list or otherwise receiving the Met Office Content from the Met Office;
“Met Office” means the Met Office for and on behalf of the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; and
“Met Office Content” means the material provided to the Licensee by the Met Office.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Met Office licences the Met Office Content to you on the basis of this licence. Please ensure that this licence is distributed appropriately within your organisation. By downloading the Met Office Content you and your organisation are deemed to have agreed to the terms of this licence including in particular the limitations of liability in paragraph 5 below. If you do not agree to the terms of this licence, you may not download the Met Office Content.
New parties may request to join the mailing list from time to time and the Met Office at its sole discretion will have the final decision as to whether new parties may be added to the mailing list to receive Met Office Content. The latest version of this licence will be available to Licensees on request.
You may contact the Met Office at any time and we will remove you from the mailing list for the syndicated content. You should print a copy of this licence for future reference. If you have any questions or concerns about this licence, or if you require an alternative licensing arrangement, please contact [email protected] and ask for your query to be directed to the “Syndication Team” for their response.
We may update these licence terms from time to time by posting a notice of the update on the mailing list. Alternatively, please contact [email protected] and the latest copy of these licence terms will be made available to you. The footer of these licence terms indicates the effective date. If you disagree with the updated terms you must not download the Met Office Content.
LICENCE TERMS
- The Met Office Content is owned by the Met Office (on behalf of the Crown) and its licensors.
- The Met Office grants the Licensee a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use, copy and adapt the Met Office Content under the terms of the UK Open Government Licence for Public Sector Information v3.0, which can be found at: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/3/;
- This licence is granted on a free of charge basis.
- The Licensee must place the following attribution statement adjacent to the Met Office Content when reproducing the Met Office Content, as required by the Open Government Licence: “Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0”
- The paragraph entitled “No warranty” in the UK Open Government Licence for Public Sector Information applies to the Met Office Content and the Met Office accepts no liability in relation to the Met Office Content to the maximum extent permitted by law. This includes but is not limited to liability arising from defects, errors, corruption or other faults in the Met Office Content as well as liability for any loss or damage caused by the Met Office Content being incompatible with the Licensee’s systems.
