Most of us will see wet and windy weather as we head through the first weekend of October and into the following week.
A number of National Severe Weather Warnings have been issued for wind and rain.Met Office Chief Meteorologist Andy Page, said; “Low pressure will dominate the weather over the coming days bringing strong winds and heavy rain at times.
“There is still some uncertainty around the exact track of the low pressure system which will cross the UK over the weekend and therefore exactly where will see the strongest winds and heaviest rain.
“However, southern and south-eastern coastal counties are expected to see some of the strongest gusts on Saturday before the low moves north and out into the North Sea bringing severe gales to the Northern Isles during Sunday. Elsewhere on Sunday it will be brighter for most but with further blustery showers, some of which could be heavy in the west.”
Further coastal gales are possible in the south and west late on Monday and into Tuesday as another weather system moves in from the Atlantic. There are large uncertainties around the track of this system but currently it looks like it will bring more heavy rain and strong winds to parts of Wales and southern England.
There has been some speculation that we might see some snow in there coming weeks. While temperatures will definitely have an autumnal feel to them at times and the unsettled theme will continue through October for many, there is no indication of snow in the October forecast at the moment.
