Joshua Colclough
Joshua is a Foundation Scientific Software Engineer working on code that links the data assimilation system to the numerical weather prediction model.
Areas of expertise
- Model interfaces
- Linux and computer cluster usage
Current activities
Josh is currently working on the interface between LFRic (a new numerical weather prediction model) and JEDI (data assimilation code). This will allow JEDI methods to use the functionality of the LFRic model, which is required to assimilate data from observations.
Career background
Joshua joined the Met Office in 2022 after graduating with a BSc in Physics from the University of Cardiff, where he achieved the School’s Prize for Outstanding Physics Project on work generating quasicrystalline structures.
