Career background
Alex joined the Met Office in 2009 as an Operational Meteorologist, advising clients across many sectors, including aviation, road, rail, marine, energy, infrastructure, government, media and sports/leisure events.
In 2013, Alex became the Service Manager responsible for the delivery of meteorological services to the energy, retail, and infrastructure sectors, as well as sports/leisure events. In 2015, he oversaw and developed the weather forecast service for the Rugby World Cup held in the UK.
Since 2017 Alex has taken on the role of Customer Services and Delivery Manager at Met Office HQ in Exeter. He is responsible for the team of Operational Meteorologists delivering bespoke meteorological services to industry.
