North West England weather forecast

Headline:

Turning drier overnight with sunny spells and showers tomorrow.

This Evening and Tonight:

A chance of some patchy rain affecting Cumbria this evening though generally turning drier with some late spells of sunshine. Remaining dry overnight with occasional clear spells developing, although cloudier in the east. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Wednesday:

A mixture of bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, perhaps with longer spells of rain later. Feeling pleasant in any sunshine, and given the light winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Changeable with sunny spells and showers, or longer spells of rain. Showers may be heavy at times. Still warm where you catch the sunshine, though feeling cooler than last week.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

The weather will be changeable, with daytime showers continuing across the UK on Sunday and possibly Monday. The heaviest showers and greatest risk of thunderstorms is expected across southern parts, while northern areas are more likely to see drier, more settled conditions developing for a time. Temperatures will be generally around or just a little above average. With winds tending to be light, it will feel warm in sunnier areas. As we head further into the following week, confidence lowers into the following week. On balance, a continuation of the showers in the south seems most likely, with the north continuing to see the best of any drier weather. Temperatures will probably remain a little above average.

Updated:

Similar weather conditions to those of the preceding few days are most likely to characterise this period to the end of May; a mixture of unsettled periods with rain and showers and settled interludes in-between. Through the first half of June, the chances of above and below average rainfall are evenly balanced. There is a slightly higher likelihood of above average temperatures compared with below average temperatures, such that the chance of hot spells, although still very small, is slightly higher than normal too.
