Fiend's Fell (Cumbria) weather

Headline:

Rain then showers on Sunday and turning colder next week.

This Evening and Tonight:

A fine end to the day in Cumbria and parts of Lancashire with some evening sunshine. Cloudier elsewhere with the chance of showers. Heavier showers and longer spells of rain developing overnight, particularly in southern areas. Staying mild and humid. Minimum temperature 15 °C.

Sunday:

Periods of heavy rain during the morning, perhaps thundery in places. Probably brightening up for most with sunny spells but slow-moving heavy showers or thunderstorms remain possible. Warm and humid. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cloudy with showers on Monday morning but sunnier later. Much windier and more unsettled thereafter with bands of showers moving through, these heavy at times. Feeling much cooler and autumnal.

Initially cool with northerly winds providing showers along exposed northern, western and eastern coasts, but also a few inland at times too, although central and southern areas may stay fairly dry and sunny. Showers wintry on the mountain tops in Scotland. Towards the end of the week and into the weekend it will likely turn more widely drier for a time, especially in central and southern areas, with the greater chance of rain and blustery conditions in the north and northwest. A gradual recovery in temperature is also expected as winds become more westerly. By the following week, while confidence is low a trend towards more settled conditions is most likely, accompanied by warmer temperatures. That said, some rain or showers are still possible, especially in the south and/or northwest.

The focus for wetter weather overall is more likely to return to north and especially northwestern areas, whilst southern and eastern areas have a greater chance of being drier relative to earlier in the month. Temperatures are likely to be around average overall, though with greater potential for brief spells of warm weather in the south.
