This Evening and Tonight:

Extensive mist and low cloud extending to many areas early tonight with the odd patch of drizzle. Western Aberdeenshire will remain dry with clear periods. Light winds. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Sunday:

Mainly dry morning with warm sunshine developing inland but extensive mist and low cloud near the coasts. Cloudier in the afternoon with a patchy rain developing. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Mainly dry and much cooler on Monday with sunny spells. Heavier rain at first on Tuesday, then sunny spells, scattered showers and strong northwest winds. These conditions continuing on Wednesday.

Initially cool with northerly winds providing showers along exposed northern, western and eastern coasts, but also a few inland at times too, although central and southern areas may stay fairly dry and sunny. Showers wintry on the mountain tops in Scotland. Towards the end of the week and into the weekend it will likely turn more widely drier for a time, especially in central and southern areas, with the greater chance of rain and blustery conditions in the north and northwest. A gradual recovery in temperature is also expected as winds become more westerly. By the following week, while confidence is low a trend towards more settled conditions is most likely, accompanied by warmer temperatures. That said, some rain or showers are still possible, especially in the south and/or northwest.

The focus for wetter weather overall is more likely to return to north and especially northwestern areas, whilst southern and eastern areas have a greater chance of being drier relative to earlier in the month. Temperatures are likely to be around average overall, though with greater potential for brief spells of warm weather in the south.
